Milton's Tips

Milton says, "Your car's weight can make the
winning
difference. You'll want to come as close to the 5 ounce weight
limit as possible! If you don't have a scale, ask your local post
office to weigh it for you."

Be
Prepared for Fun!
The Boy Scouts of America and many youth/church groups hold
annual Pinewood Derby Races. These wooden car races are a lot of
fun and bring out the creativeness in everyone.
The little cars must weigh no more than 5 ounces (the YM/WCA
groups have 16 ounce cars) and can be carved into any shape imaginable.
Yes, carved! Each youngster starts out with a block of wood, four
wheels and axles. "Cars" have been known to take the shape of
sharks, No. 2 pencils, trucks and even just regular cars!
While most groups provide the basic block and wheels kit to
each youngster, PARMA HOBBY can help with the paint, decals, weights,
graphite and carving templates. We have replacement blocks and
pre-carved wood cars. We have specialty parts, such as steering
wheels, canopies, drivers, roll bars, motors and the ever-popular speed
kits!
We also provide a lot of technical expertise for the novice
racer and his/her family.
